The MaiTai-p of Groove Wedding Cocktail Hour
The Music Mixologists are exhilarated to share the premier cocktail hour submission by musician, DJ and bartender Chris Smucker, aka “DJ Lattimer.” Lattimer’s playlist is a tour de force of modern funk, featuring artists Vulpeck, Thundercat, Khruangbin and many more. Chris is based in NYC and constantly has his hands in an array of musical projects.
For a signature drink, Chris has selected a MaiTai. His preferred recipe:
MaiTai
2 oz Appleton Estate Signature Rum
0.5 oz Pierre Ferrand Dry Curacao
0.75 oz Fresh lime juice
0.75 oz Orgeat
Shake ingredients and strain over pellet ice into a tiki cup. Float a bar spoon of Plantation O.F.T.D. or similar over proof rum. Garnish with a small tiki figurine and umbrella.
“Orgeat” - a type of almond syrup can be purchased off Total Wine according to Chris. You can also make it from scratch using Chris’ special recipe! (email us to receive it)
